“Sugar-Free” Apple Cinnamon Pancakes

*Disclaimer*: Of course there is sugar in this recipe.  Let’s not forget who’s cooking here…  However, it is all fructose-oriented in nature as found in the applesauce and OJ as well as some lactose found in the milk.  That is all.   My friend and her boyfriend came to visit sunny, warm Texas from the…

Cheesy Baked “Ziti”

Whew.  I have had a very busy week+ entertaining and enjoying friends from out of town.  I have many more fabulous posts, but will begin with the one that I started long, long ago, in a kitchen actually not quite too far away…seriously folks…it’s like 5 ft from where I am currently sit sprawled out…

Yoshida’s Chicken: A Quickie

Yoshida’s Chicken was a favorite at my home growing up.  I have not been able to find this stuff in stores, EVER, but due to the wonder that is buying in bulk á la Costco, my mom ho0ked me up with a big ol’ jug of Mr. Yoshida’s Marinade some time last year.  The stuff…

Friday night is Awesome night…

…because we made pizza from scratch for the first time. First up: Dough.  We took dear fiancé’s Italian grandmother’s bread recipe, rolled it out and popped it in the oven at 400° for 1o minutes. All said and done, the pizza took about 20-25 minutes to cook at 375°.  Easy, breezy, and way cheaper than…

Man-Cooking

My man stepped it up this week.  He not only (finally) did the dishes, he volunteered to cook dinner.  He planned, executed, and delivered: Stuffed artichokes. Yum.  And fun to eat! *Updated: Pics Added!* The next day he baked 2 loafs of his Italian grandmother’s bread.  Can you say melted butter on top, please?
