Super Bowl Cocoa Crispers Foodballs

Only 5 ingredients: Score!

First of all, YAY PACKERS!

OK, that’s out of the way.  I saw this recipe on the ModCloth Blog (click) and they were an easy and pretty quick dish to take to the “foos-ball” and commercial-watching hang-out.  Even the little neighbor kids who randomly stopped by came back to take more home to their family, due to popular demand.

Step 1.  Melt Butter on low heat:
I see a smiley face.
Step 2.  Add marshmallows, stir until melted:
Sugary goodness - stir it up until it's all one congealed, melty mess

Step 3.  Remove from heat, add peanut butter, mix well:
Never, NEVER leave a utensil unsupervised near your congealed mix - it's like quicksand!

Steps 5 & 6: Stir in box of Crispers, let cool, and form into football shapes.
TIPS:
  • I added a little bit of cocoa powder and a splash of milk because the “Organic Koala Crispers” that were at my corner market did not taste chocolate-y enough.  I did not want to go the the big grocery store on Superbowl afternoon, so I sacrificed cost and variety for speed and convenience.  Hence the semi-organic nature of this treat.
  • Butter your hands before forming footballs!  I kept the last bit of butter from the stick of butter melted earlier  and just lathered up as needed.
Step 7-ish: Pipe on ends of footballs and laces with frosting or decorating gel (the latter is probably easier to deal with)
SO, I didn't have the pastry bag/tips I thought I had, so the laces are messy from using a sandwhich bag with a small corner cut off.

Time for kick-offf! (That means stuff yo’ face!)

That’s a fancy corner market you have.

By the way, those look super cute and yum!
